Goalkeeper scores outrageous goal from own half; watch video
Sometimes, there are targets that ship the soccer world in a frenzy. Then there are targets scored by goalkeepers from their own half that make you imagine that soccer is a loopy sport. On Saturday, Lugo goalkeeper Juan Carlos produced one of many all-time greats as he caught his Sporting Gijon counterpart Diego Marino off his line with a splendidly weighted lob from inside his own half. And the truth that it was Carlos’ 30th birthday makes the goal much more particular!
With Lugo already 2-1 up in opposition to Sporting Gijon into the final 10 minutes in a Spanish Segunda division match, Carlos hammered the ball from a distance of round 60 yards straight into the web. The kick was so correct that the ball didn’t even bounce as soon as and went flying in straight.
When a goalkeeper scores a goal usually the opposition goalkeeper misjudges the bounce of the ball.

The unbelievable goal completely overshadows the opposite two targets for Lugo by Iriome Gonzalez and Jaime Romero. The 3-1 win for Lugo places Francisco Javier Rodríguez Vílchez’s facet in fourth place within the Spanish Segunda division, 4 factors forward of Granada within the fifth place.
